Diamond saw blades, also known as PCD saw blades, are extensively used as cutting tools for processing hard and brittle materials like concrete, stone, refractory materials, and ceramics. These blades consist of two main parts: the base body and the cutter head.
The base body serves as the primary support for the bonded cutter head. On the other hand, the cutter head is responsible for the actual cutting during usage. While the cutter head gradually wears down with continuous use, the base body remains intact and unaffected. What enables the cutter head to effectively cut through materials is the presence of diamonds within it.
Diamond is currently the hardest substance known to us, and within the cutter head, it rubs against and cuts the material being processed. To ensure the diamond particles remain securely in place, they are enveloped by a metal housing within the cutter head.

FAQ
Q1: How is the PCD saw blade ground?
A: We have electric discharge grinding machines. Diamond saw blades are generally ground by means of electrical corrosion.
Q2: Why can't PCD saw blades cut ferrous steel?
A: Because diamond is carbon-based, it will produce diffusion reaction with carbon molecules in steel or cast iron at high temperature, and PCD will be carbonized when the cutting temperature is too high.
